Senior Corporate Relations Representative Angela Appleton led a tour, and presented an overview of the tremendous programs conducted by World Vision in every corner of the globe. The displays were powerful and moving. In a village in Lesthopo, Africa, young children deal with so much disease, (aids) lack of water, nourishment, and simple day to day survival. The fear of molestation and rape is nightly, and World Vision is there trying to help the government do the simplest of things such as medical aid and water.

Viking, along with Stevens Worldwide Van Lines gave a contribution check to World Vision and their organization. This is a very special worldwide organization, and very large doing wonderful things in Africa and the world.

Stevens Worldwide Van Lines made a contribution this time to Haiti, a $15,000 check was given this day to Anderea for the Haitai relief fund.

Move on Guemes Island

12/23-30/09

Viking Moving Services crews worked all week(12-23 to29) on Guemes Island removing goods from a home that sustained severe structural damage when it was being lowered onto its original foundation Dec 12th 2009.

Five crew men from Viking Moving Services constructed a pathway from the truck to the front door of the home using sheets of plywood and walk boards to span the terrain before finally removing a sliding glass door which was sealed closed due to the shifting of the home.

Packing and removal of the goods was a tedious process. The floor had risen 3 feet at each corner of the house and bowed down in the middle of the home. Stepping very carefully and almost requiring climbing over the mounds inside, Viking began removing both damaged and non damaged goods including an antique player piano.

The goods were taken back to the Viking warehouse, inventoried, categorized and vaulted for safe keeping.
